WAUSAU, WI—Polka America Corporation (PAC) presents Polka Dancing Stars, on January 26, 2007, 7 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. at the Grand Theater also known as the Performing Arts Foundation, 401 N. Fourth Street, Wausau, WI. Ten of the world’s top polka dancers will be featured dancing to Polish polka recordings from The Polish Kid, Polka Family Band, Charm City Sound, and more. A live performance by Neal Zunker and The Music Connection will be included as part of the show. The Music Connection are recent inductees to the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame’s Band of the Year category. Masters of Ceremony for the evening will be Gary Brueggen of Buzz Country 94.5 (Tomah, WI) and Jeff Heinz of WDEZ 101.9 FM (Wausau, WI). Mr. Heinz is also a recent inductee in the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame in the Promoter of the Year category. Mr. Brueggen has been inducted in the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame under the Band of the Year category. This can’t miss event represents the present day North American dance scene in its genre.

Polka Dancing Stars is the first event of this type in the history of polka music to be presented at a Performing Arts Foundation location. “We are very excited about this show as we have been informed that a talent agent may be at the event to sign dancers to go on tour in many other dance venues,” said Michelle Genrich, President of the Polka America Corporation. Genrich also notes that the performances will be video taped with a copy being forwarded to a large-scale dance agency.
The Polka America Corporation was in established in 2006 with a range of goals focusing on the professional aspects of polka music. Its members include musicians, dancers, promoters, disc jockeys, and fans, from across the country, which have joined together to achieve this goal.
