PACE Music Awards Program Begins
Polka America Corporation is pleased to announce a new music award program. The Polka America Corporation Excellence (PACE) awards, are designed to recognize the best new recordings, best original song, and outstanding service for the benefit of polka music.
PACE awards will be given in the following categories:
1. Best Polish CD
2. Best Slovenian CD
3. Best Old Time CD
4. Best Variety CD
5. Best Original Song
Qualified recordings need to have been released in 2009 for the 2010 awards voting. In addition, The Frankies award, named in honor of Frankie Yankovic, will be given to those displaying outstanding service to polka music.
Nominees and voters are not required to be members of Polka America Corporation. Voting categories will be member, expert, and general. Expert voters (musicians, publishers, song writers, DJs/IJs, etc.) must pre-register by December 31st through the PAC website. Official voting will begin January 1st each year and will run through the last day of January each year. Online voting as well as paper ballots will be available. Only one ballot can be cast per person.
